The ’59 Sound is based on the legendary 1959 Tweed Fender Bassman. The ’59 Sound captures the essence of that magical amplifier.

I've never really liked the sound of distorted Fender amps (this is Zack pontificating) except for my earliest amp, a blonde Fender Bassman with a 2X12 cab that just rip roared pure tinnitus joy. But there is one Fender that blows that one completely away, and that's a '59 Bassman. I guess the way it affected Jim Marshall was similar, back in the 60s, because he used it as the template for the first Marshall amps. So it's not out of the realm of possibility to imagine that the ZVEX Box of Rock, which accurately models the Marshall JTM45 amps, could be modded to sound like a '59 Bassman. Tommy Rehbein, our customer service specialist, tackled this particular concept and listened closely to a '59 Bassman for a few days and tweaked components in our BOR until he got that magical '59 Sound worked out. Check out the video and see if this is a sound you've been searching for. It's pretty amazing, especially when you use your guitar's volume control to explore it's wide range of textures.

Hi everybody this is Erik at ZVEX making the case for our new '59 Sound distortion pedal. The '59 Sound is based on one of the greatest guitar amplifiers ever built, the 1959 Fender Tweed Bassman. I played through one years ago. Best sounding amp I ever heard.
One of the things guitar players love about a 1959 Fender Tweed Bassman is all the control you have from the guitar. Higher gain amps don't clean up much when you reduce the guitar volume. A clean amp just gets quieter, but vintage non master volume amps clean up beautifully just from turning down the guitar.
Hey everyone, we're getting down to the wire on the promotion for our new ZVEX '59 Sound pedal (ends Thursday 6/8/2017). Here's another demo to consider. There are a few things going on here worth noting. The lower rhythm part was played on bridge PU with fingers to feature how that technique translates.
